1. What cookies and browser storage are
Cookies and similar technologies can store or access information on a user's device. Browser storage includes localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, service worker storage, and third-party checkout/session storage.
PEARL App separates storage that is strictly necessary for requested services from optional storage that requires consent before it is used.
Visitor cookie choices are stored in localStorage. When a user is logged in, PEARL App also syncs cookie consent evidence to the user's Firestore consent record.
2. Consent rules
- Strictly necessary storage does not require optional consent when it is needed to provide the service requested by the user.
- Strictly necessary storage is used for security and requested platform operation.
- Optional storage categories stay off unless the user accepts or customizes them.
- Cookie consent is separate from Terms and Privacy acknowledgement.
- PEARL App may count landings and page visits for basic platform measurement without using marketing pixels or optional third-party analytics cookies.
- Consent must be informed, specific, freely given, unambiguous, and withdrawable.
- Rejecting optional storage must not block core PEARL App access.
3. Contact and support
Use Reports for content concerns, Feedback for opinions about PEARL App, and Tickets for issues, support requests, privacy/account/accessibility/moderation follow-up, or other requests that need a response.
Users may also write to office@pearlapp.eu.
